Why Destroyers?
While degaussing is an effective method of erasure, it should not be used as the sole method and should be followed by additional physical destruction. This is because it is impractical to verify that each individual hard disk drive or tape has been degaussed successfully. Using a physical destruction device after degaussing guarantees complete information destruction.
For Solid State media, physical destruction is the ONLY secure method of end-of-life information disposal. The form of destruction and particle size recommendations vary by media type and by the type of information being destroyed.
